The Town of Smooth Rock falls has a number of emergency services available within the community. For police, fire and ambulance emergencies please dial 9-1-1.


Hospital

AMBULANCE

Cochrane District Social Sevices Administrative Board (CDSSAB) Emergency Medical Services Division is the sole provider of ambulance service in the Town of Smooth Rock Falls and is responsible for providing primary and advanced medical care to ill and injured persons to, from and between medical treatment facilities. An ambulance station is located in Smooth Rock Falls and is staffed during daytime hours and available on-call afterhours.

The Emergency Medical Services Division also ensures that service delivery standards are in accordance with all legislation, policies, and procedures at the municipal, provincial and federal levels and provides continuous public and professional educational programs that maintain legislative and regulatory requirements as well as advance awareness and scope of Emergency Medical Services.

CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY

Smooth Rock Falls is served by the North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS). It is an integrated agency, providing services to children, youth and their families in the Districts of Cochrane and Timiskaming. Their client responsive programs and services are innovative, evidence-based, and designed to meet the unique needs of those they serve.

The Agency provides Child Welfare, Children’s Mental Health, Youth Justice and Prevention programs along with a number of other programs and services. NEOFACS is a non-profit charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors whose funding is received primarily from the Ministry of Children & Youth Services. Several other funders support programs as well.

NEOFACS is designated under the French Language Services Act and as such provide services in both official languages.

NEOFACS is visible in several communities in northeastern Ontario. The head office is located in Timmins. Primary District campuses are located in Kapuskasing and Kirkland Lake; several other communities are also home to NEOFACS campuses and programs and services. NEOFACS is also proud to own and operate a camp facility located in Moonbeam, Ontario.

FIRE SERVICES

The Fire Department is comprised of volunteer fire fighters dedicated to delivering fire protection services through the Town of Smooth Rock Falls. VICTIM CRISIS ASSISTANCE AND REFERRAL SERVICES

Victim Crisis Assistance and Referral Services (VCARS) is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides short-term crisis support to victims of crime, tragic circumstance and disaster.

Specially trained crisis responders are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide emotional support, practical assistance and referrals to community agencies. Victim Services volunteers and staff work in partnership with local police, fire and emergency services to ensure persons affected by crime, tragedy and disaster receive immediate support and assistance.
