Zoom webinar is a video conferencing system that allows to meet virtually with an audience.
What device do I need to participate in a Zoom Webinar Council Meeting?
Zoom Webinar works on the following electronic devices: laptop, computer, iPad, tablet and smartphone device.
How do I register for a Zoom Webinar Council Meeting?
The invitation link will be available on the Town’s website and Facebook page. The link will bring you to a registration page where you will enter your first name, last name and email address. Once completed, you will receive an additional email from Zoom with the meeting details. Should you require assistance with the council meeting Zoom Webinar links, please call the Town Hall for guidance.
Will you be able to hear and see me on the Zoom Webinar?
No, Council and administration will not be able to hear or see residents that have registered for the meeting.
What are my viewing options for the meetings?
An attendee has the choice to view the meetings in either Speaker view (you can only see the one person that is actively talking) or Gallery View (you can see everyone that is in the meeting) To change your view option to your preference, you will need to click on your view setting and choose accordingly.

This electronic meeting is in line with Bill 187, Municipal Emergencies Act, 2020. The act has received royal assent and came into force on March 19, 2020. It amends the Municipal Act, 2001 and the City of Toronto Act, 2006 to permit members of Council to participate in Council meetings electronically and, should they choose to do so, be counted for the purposes of quorum.
