I was born in Smooth Rock Falls and have been married to my husband, Jim, for over 45 years. Jim and I are avid snowmobilers, 4-wheelers and campers. We have two children and four grandchildren that we adore. My family and I enjoy all four seasons and we always look for (and find!) fun things to do in Smooth Rock Falls. I love travelling with my husband and hope to continue exploring new places for many more years.
I worked for the Royal Bank of Canada for 37 years, but have been retired since 2007. After retiring, I looked for activities and roles that would keep me engaged with my community and help to make my town a better place to live and work. My love for Smooth Rock Falls motivated me to take part in a variety of boards and volunteer opportunities in Smooth Rock Falls and surrounding areas.
I am currently in my third term as the Chair of the Police Board and I also sit on the Porcupine Health Unit Board where I am the Chair of the Program Committee. In addition, I represent North Eastern Ontario Municipal Association on the Timmins District Hospital Board and sit on two committees there.
One of my main goals has been to create a recycling program in Smooth Rock Falls. I am thrilled to say that after tremendous work from Council and town staff, we successfully implemented it in 2017! I work with a terrific Council and we are all working very hard to ensure the betterment of our community.
