The Town of Smooth Rock Falls has a new logo and tagline!

In 2015, the Town of Smooth Rock Falls created a 20-year plan for the town.  As part of that 20-year plan, the Town needed a new visual identify to reflect it’s new direction and help Smooth Rock Falls achieve it’s bold objectives.  The Town engaged the St. Clements Group Inc., an economic development consultancy, to help them.  And at the launch party on September 26, 2017 the new logo and tagline were revealed to much celebration and cheers!

After extensive public consultation, a picture emerged of what truly set Smooth Rock Falls apart from other communities and made it so special.   When you visit Smooth Rock Falls, the first thing you notice is the beautiful environment – the Mattagami river, the lakes, the forest.  The Town is surrounding by stunning beauty.  And this beauty stays no matter what the season, the nature that surround the Town is beautiful all year round.  The Town is also perfectly located in this corner of Northeastern Ontario.  It is on the TransCanada highway and pretty much right at the centre between Kapuskasing and Hearst to the west, Cochrane to the east and Timmins to the south.

Smooth Rock Falls is a welcoming and friendly community where the residents believe very strongly in helping each other and in volunteering to help make their town a better place for everyone.  The high level of volunteering that happens in this community means the Town is able to offer an abundance of recreation amenities.  There is a golf course, a ski lodge with groomed trails, a pool, a bowling alley, a library, a hockey area, a curling club and there are extensive, award-winning snowmobile trails – all these activities and many more are all run by volunteers.  Smooth Rock Falls offers everything that a large community has plus it is accessible – you don’t to play hockey at midnight just to get ice time.

When you combine all of these things with the low cost of housing, you realize that Smooth Rock Falls is pretty close to perfect!  And that is how the new tagline was born – Near north, near perfect.  Presque nord, presque parfaite.

The logo was designed using 4 distinct elements that represent the four seasons:

The logo colours are colours you would find in nature and specifically in Northern Ontario.  They are muted, natural colours that are modern but not trendy.

When the logo and tagline are combined, it creates a very meaningful, powerful image that is a clean, fresh and modern.  This new logo and tagline will help take the Town of Smooth Rock Falls into a bright, optimistic future!
