skiing & snowshoeing
Like numerous other recreation facilities in Smooth Rock Falls, the Mattagami Cross Country Ski Club is run by volunteers. The ski club consists of a main lodge, which is located 5 minutes down the Fraserdale Road (Hwy 634). A second lodge can be found at the mid-point of the trails. This cabin serves as a place to warm up, as well as a lookout over the beautiful Mattagami River that surrounds the trails. Standing on the balcony one can see the breathtaking view of some of our most treasured landscape. Rick Isaacson offers day trips to all who are interested for both ski and snowshoe.
During summer, the trails can be used by hikers as well.
The main lodge is a log cabin with a large stone fireplace that is truly spectacular. The lodge is also available to rent for events and parties. Please contact Rick or Sue for more information.
The Mattagami Cross Country Ski Club offers 18 km of groomed cross country ski trails and 3 km of snowshoe trails.
Memberships for both skiing & snowshoeing are due on January 31st.

- Family season pass – $140
- Daily pass – $5 (snowshoeing & skiing)
- Snowshoe rental – $2
- Lodge rental – $100
